Antonello Amelii, Roberto Caferri, and Roberto Bassi attended the 13th International Conference on Photosynthesis and Hydrogen Energy Research for Sustainability, held in Gaeta, Italy, from 17 to 20 May 2026.
The program covered photosynthesis and hydrogen energy systems from fundamental research to practical applications. With plenary lectures, poster sessions, and two parallel tracks of oral presentations, the conference offered a lively forum for students, postdoctoral researchers, and scientists to share ideas, expand their networks, and build new international collaborations.
All three researchers contributed with oral presentations:
- Antonello Amelii presented “Tracking excited-state dynamics and quenching in vivo: a time-resolved analysis in light-harvesting antenna mutants.”
- Roberto Caferri presented “Spectral re-design of Lhcb proteins for engineering photosynthetic light-use efficiency,” and received a Young Talent Researcher Award for his outstanding contributions.
- Professor Roberto Bassi presented “Back to the Seabed: The Unique Photosystem I Architecture of the Seagrass Posidonia oceanica.”
